Anything at all about the app, whether it is a bug, a feature you wish it had, a problem with a subscription, or just what you think of it, goes to support@spatialize.dev. We try to answer within 48 hours on weekdays.
The app uses your phone's own location services. For the best accuracy:
Yes. The surveying itself (tracking, photos, drawing, exporting a GeoPackage) needs no connection whatsoever. Two things do: loading map tiles, which you can download ahead of time and keep on the phone, and checking your subscription, which the app remembers for 7 days so a week without signal changes nothing.
There is no trial counting down on you. There is a free version, and it gives you one survey and up to 100 objects: points, lines, polygons, and any photos or videos that stand on their own. Everything else is there at no charge, including the export and the QGIS project that comes with it, survey forms, reference layers, offline maps and georeferenced images, geofences and landmarks.
The allowance runs for the lifetime of the install rather than per survey. An object counts the moment you create it, and deleting it later, or deleting the whole session, does not hand the slot back. Photos and videos taken into a feature's form field belong to that feature and are not counted on their own.
Subscribing to the full version removes both limits. Either way, you can always export what you have already collected.
Open the survey, tap the share or export icon, and pick either GeoPackage (one .gpkg file) or ZIP (the GeoPackage with the video files beside it). The file then goes to your phone's usual share menu, so you can email it, AirDrop it, or send it to cloud storage. The GeoPackage opens straight in QGIS and in any other standard GIS.
The Privacy Policy has the detail. The short version: there is no server of ours behind the app, we never receive your survey data, and the only requests it makes are for map tiles (OpenFreeMap, plus any tile service you add yourself) and to check your subscription with Google Play or the Apple App Store.
