A survey is a day's walk, in order. The ribbon over the map plays it back: what was recorded, when, into which layer, with the photo or video taken at that spot.

Halfway through the morning: the objects recorded so far on the map, the rest still to come.

The ribbon

It appears when the survey has dated rows. The canvas is the survey's clock, running from the first record to the last, with the hours marked and one tick per record in its layer's colour. Play moves the amber playhead at whichever speed you choose, 1, 5 or 30 survey minutes to the real second, and the map shows only what existed by that moment. A card at the top right names the record just passed, with a Show button that flies to it. Pause stops it, and the last button skips to the end and brings everything back.

Click or drag anywhere on the canvas to move the playhead yourself. Click a tick to select that record: the map flies there, the object is highlighted, and the Table tab scrolls to its row. Hover a tick and a tooltip names it and gives its time.

With the playhead short of the end, the map is a snapshot of that moment. Anything you look up, identify or search still covers the whole survey. Only the drawing follows the clock.
