Security & Licence
Your surveys, photos, positions and users live in your database and on your disks. Spatialize never receives your survey data. The only time the server contacts us is for its daily licence check.
Who decides what
Your organisation decides where the server runs, who signs in and how long data is kept.
- Encrypted connections. Traffic uses TLS, which you set up at your own proxy.
- Two-step sign-in. Sign-in supports an authenticator app. After repeated failures the account is locked for a while.
- Site isolation. A manager of one site cannot reach another site’s phones, surveys or files.
The audit log
Sign-ins, policy changes, enrolments, releases, deployments and deletions are all recorded, with who did them and when.
The licence
- Daily check. The server asks our licence server once a day.
- If we cannot be reached. The last answer holds for 30 days.
- If a licence lapses. New enrolments stop. Your data is never touched.
- No internet at all. A server that cannot reach the internet runs on a signed licence file instead of the daily check.
Backups
One script backs up the database and the data directory together. A restore drill is part of every installation, so you know the backup works before you need it.
